Awaiting the birth of a second child is often in such stark contrast to the first time around.

Fewer quiet moments and less time to rest are the obvious, but there’s the guilt too.

Your growing family signifies the end of these special days just the two of you – Mother & Child.

Right alongside the joy you feel for the wee babe tucked safely wombside, comes a grief for what will be lost as your world shifts once again, raising questions you weren’t expecting and don’t have the answers for.

“How will my firstborn cope?” (They will)

“How will I cope?” (You will)

“Do I have enough love to give to a second child?” (You do)

Then, your precious babe joins you earthside and your world is turned upside down – second time around. While it’s rarely a smooth transition for anyone, you find your way, you find the answers to all those questions & you settle in to life as you now know it.

Hands full, heart fuller, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

This earthside session took place at home in Dunedoo, NSW. For this family, a beautiful reflection of how life felt at the time (hands full, heart fuller) – as they welcomed their second son and little brother. Witnessing this little darling meet his grandparents & great grandfather for the first time was so special, the love in the room that day was incredible.
